Sheltered Space

This 1960’s house was bought off the original builder/owner, and while the family loved the original layout and detailing, they lacked a space to sit outside in the sun and drink in the view.

Since the living spaces were upstairs a deck off these was proposed, but with the sun and views came the wind – and plenty of it!

The deck expands their living area, and timber and perspex screens either side offer protection from the wind while enhancing the views. Discreet lighting and an outdoor heater mean that the space is used at all hours of the day and throughout the year.
