Originally designed as a photography studio, with a change of use application, the space is given a new lease of life as a self contained dwelling.
The high stud & north facing windows create a light filled space which feels more generous than its 32 square metre footprint would suggest.
A cramped storage area, previously accessed with a small ladder, is repurposed as a bathroom.
Access to the bathroom is now via bamboo steps at a much more comfortable pitch, with sliding doors concealing storage space beneath the steps & landing.
A soaring translucent screen, which doubles as a display wall, conceals the slightly elevated bathroom from view.
Formaldehyde free pureply is used for timber wall panelling, built in joinery and all the offcuts are repurposed as furniture – bed, bedside cabinets and coffee tables.
An hydronic heat pump, hot water cylinder and radiators provide efficient central heating & hot water.
